Island Dermatology helps a Mercer Island woman get back her confidence using the latest broadband light therapy called profractional therapy. Sally, who has lived in Mercer Island her entire life, is ready to face the world with a fresh new look. Sally’s teen years were spent living with severe acne. She vividly remembers being taunted and teased due to her skin condition when she was in Mercer Island High and the taunting. Now however thanks to profractional therapy, she can confidently walk the streets of Mercer Island with no embarrassment.
She first heard about the treatment from one of her colleagues who had perfect skin. She couldn’t believe that Cynthia once too had severe acne scarring. She told her about Island Dermatology and how their treatments helped change her life. Sally decided if she was ever going to get ahead in the business world she needed to put her best face forward, literally.
She went in to Island Dermatology last February for a consult with one of the dermatologists. After her initial consultation, the dermatologist recommended profractional therapy. The dermatologist explained with profractional therapy dermatologists use broadband light to create small channels in the skin which helps stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin. This treatment unlike traditional resurfacing procedures has a shorter recovery time. Sally said that she was advised to stay indoors out of the sun while she was recovering. Since her treatment, her face is noticeably smoother with most of the acne scarring erased.
