A woman came to Island Dermatology in Seattle for treatment of wrinkles and uneven pigmentation on her hands. She wanted to fade the brown spots and freckles and return firmness to the skin to give her hands a younger appearance.
The dermatologist recommended Fotofacial and Skin Tyte treatments with the BBL laser. The Fotofacial laser uses broad band light to target the extra pigmentation of the brown spots and the freckles caused by years of sun exposure and aging. Fotofacial treatments use intense pulse light to remove irregular spots of discoloration over a period of 10 to 14 days. Immediately after treatment, the areas darken and then fade gradually. It’s effective for treating brown spots, freckles, age spots and other skin discoloration on the face, neck, chest and hands.
Skin Tyte also uses a broad band light laser to heat collagen under the skin. This promotes partial denaturation and contraction of collagen and the laser’s heat activates the body’s healing process. These processes create a renewed collagen foundation that, over time, leads to firmer skin. Both treatments are non-invasive and require no down-time for the patient. The laser treatments can cause some discomfort, but redness and swelling subside within one to two days.
Fotofacial and Skin Tyte treatments need to be repeated at least three times for maximum results. The patient was pleased with the results she saw after the first treatment, with noticeably lighter skin spots and firmer skin. After completing the treatment regimen with the recommended three treatments, she returned to Island Dermatology 100 percent satisfied with the results. Let Island Dermatology help you today!
