Would You Like To Get Rid of Acne Scars and Revitalize Your Skin?

Acne can be stressful and frustrating for anyone. Unfortunately, even the best of care won’t prevent all acne scars. While one’s sense of self should not be determined by outward appearances, we understand the embarrassment, anxiety, and self-doubt that may, at times, strike even the most confident. We look forward to being able to assist you with your acne scar removal and will work diligently with you to find which of our treatment methods will help you eliminate acne scars – forever.

At Island Dermatology, we offer the following methods of Acne Scar Removal:

Augmentation – Restylane, Sculptra

BlueLight Photodynamic Therapy

Cryotherapy Excision – for keloids

Laser Therapy

Dermabrasion

Microdermabrasion

Narrow Band Ultraviolet Light Treatment

Medium Chemical Peels

Subcision

We are also pleased to be able to offer MicroLaserPeel® & ProFractional™ Therapy. These cutting edge techniques use a Sciton Laser which, compared with other resurfacing lasers, offer a more precise treatment, is safer on the face and body, treats more skin types, and shortens recovery times significantly.

MicroLaserPeel

The MicroLaserPeel works by removing a portion of your epidermis (the outermost layer of skin) while leaving the deeper dermis layer untouched. This also makes it a great treatment to help reverse the signs of aging, as the epidermis is frequently the source of discoloration and wrinkles in aging skin. By not damaging the dermis, the risk of infection and downtime is kept to a minimum. Often, you can be up and about again in just 2-3 days!

ProFractional Therapy

Unlike the MicroLaserPeel, which removes the entire surface area of a treatment site, ProFractional creates narrow channels in the skin, leaving surrounding skin tissue intact. This speeds up the recovery process, while also stimulating the production of new collagen and elastin (a protein in connective tissue that keeps skin flexible). The ProFractional can also target the dermis layer of skin, which is great for acne scar removal as acne scarring can be quite deep.

MicroLaserPeel + ProFractional Therapy

Using the MicroLaserPeel and ProFractional Therapy in tandem will work to remove any surface scarring and imperfections, such as age spots, fine lines, and wrinkles, while also being able to target deeper scarring in the dermis skin layer.
