Bellevue Woman Reverses Effects of Skin’s Sun Damage With Fotofacial Treatment

Posted July 31st, 2011 in Fotofacial Treatment, Wrinkle Removal

A woman from Bellevue, WA 98005 was looking to diminish the look of wrinkles and aging skin. She has spent years in the sun, not realizing how damaging all of that sun exposure could be to the skin. Her skin was now wrinkled and gave her the appearance of being much older than she actually was. She was hoping to find a successful dermatology treatment that could diminish the look of her wrinkles and make her look younger.

A friend referred her to Island Dermatology, to see if our dermatologists would be able to help. The staff at Island Dermatology were able to answer all of her questions and concerns and provide her with information about their dermatology services. She set up an appointment with a dermatologist, so she could be evaluated and the doctor could recommend a dermatology treatment plan specifically for her.

The doctor suggested that she have the broadband light (BBL) treatment called, fotofacial, for vascularity and pigmentation. Each fotofacial treatment would last about thirty minutes and would work by forcing the collagen and blood vessels under the skin to constrict. The dermatologist recommended that she have three to five dermatology treatments done to reduce the sign of wrinkles. After three treatments, most of the pigmentation was gone and the wrinkles appeared to be smaller. The women did receive a little bit of redness on her face after each treatment, but it usually disappeared within 24 hours.
