Laser Hair Reduction
Many people are plagued by unwanted hair. While some are simply bothered with the inconvenience of tweezing or waxing, others experience extreme embarrassment due to the presence of hair on large areas of the body or where hair doesn’t commonly grow. Whatever the reason, unwanted hair can be easily eliminated through laser hair removal.
Laser hair removal procedures are extremely non-invasive. A topical anesthetic is generally applied to the treated area to alleviate any mild discomfort that may occur during the treatment. As a laser instrument is pressed to the skin, the laser beam penetrates the surface of the skin to the hair follicles, where hair growth originates. The heat from the laser damages the hair follicles to hinder future growth. Post treatment side effects include redness, swelling and stinging of the skin, which typically dissipate after a day or two. Risks associated with laser hair removal are minimal and include temporary skin irritation and pigment changes to the affected area.
To help ensure long term reduction of hair, multiple treatments, spaced in 4-6 week intervals, are often required. The actual number of treatments required to achieve the desired result depend on the area of the body being treated, coarseness of hair, and the amount of hair being removed. Although, laser hair removal doesn’t guarantee permanent hair removal, it is fast, effective and will leave you with the smooth, hair free appearance that you have been wanting!
Laser hair removal can be performed on almost any part of the body, including:
Face (eyebrows, upper lip, facial hair)
